12 students from elementary and high schools in the city of Tirana were declared winners, respectively of the first, second and third prizes out of 40 students who competed with projects, products produced with recyclable materials using elements of technology and innovation based on 3R principles.
Mr. Genci Kojdheli greeted the participants and students where he encouraged them to advance their projects by making them applicable in the field. Mr. Robert Girejko, director of the project “Capital Cities Collaborating on Common Challenges in Hazardous Waste Management - Yerevan, Warsaw, Tirana” welcomed the activity, and shared with the participants the activities, results and challenges of the project in the cities of Yerevan, Warsaw and Tirana.
The projects were evaluated by the jury composed of Mr. Genci Kojdheli, General Director at Tirana Municipality, Mrs. Adela Krajka, Director of the Directorate of Integration and Foreign Projects and Mrs. Ornela Cuci, International Expert on waste management. The elementary school "Pjeter Budi" and the high school "Sami Frashëri" were declared winners of the first prize, the second prize was won by: elementary school "1 Qershori" and the high school "Partizani" and the third prize went or the elementary school "Ali Demi" and the high school "Qemal Stafa".
The awarding ceremony coincided with the closing conference of the project “Capital Cities Collaborating on Common Challenges in Hazardous Waste Management - Yerevan, Warsaw, Tirana” financed by the European Union.
